Each year Chapter 2 receives tens of thousands of donated books, which we sell to the public through the Chapter 2 Book Store and online through Amazon and other marketplaces. Notable donated books are offered to the Library for its special collections.
All books which are not placed for sale in the Book Store, or given to the Library, are sold at our Monthly Book Sales, held on the first weekend of each month. Many items are sold for $1 or less (many for the first time).
We set up the sales on Thursdays and take down the sales on Mondays. There are NO sales during these time periods as our volunteers are working in limited space and we don't want anyone injured.
Each sale will include featured “specials” from some of the following categories: mysteries, science fiction, westerns, romance, war and espionage fiction, classics, poetry, drama, art, photography, hobbies, crafts, do-it-yourself, self-help, parenting, health and nutrition, cookbooks, gardening, business, sports, travel, Arizona history and travel, foreign language material, religion and philosophy, history, politics, biography, large print material, puzzles and collectibles.
Items which do not sell at the Monthly Book Sale are either sold via the Phoenix Public Library Book Sales or donated to schools and other non-profit organizations.
Don't forget to check out our Amazon storefront. You'll find hundreds and hundreds of books there that are not on display in the bookstore and we add more daily. If you find something on our Amazon storefront that you like, you can always make a request and we can take it off Amazon and sell it to you over the counter, if it's still available.
